Project Vote Smart
Brief Summary -
PVS is a voter's self-defense system that provides voters with factual information
on candidates and elected officials. The founders of PVS include former President
Jimmy Carter, Congressman Ronald Dellums, and several other prominent Americans of
both political parties.
SPECIAL NOTE: Project Vote Smart - a non-profit,
non-partisan voter information service - would like to announce that it has received
a generous grant from the Hearst Foundation to provide scholarship money for
qualified minority students interested in interning with Project Vote Smart.

Teach for America
Brief Summary -
TFA is a 501C3 tax-exempt nonprofit organization that recruits recent college
graduates of all academic majors to teach in an under-resourced urban or rural
public school.
SPECIAL NOTE: Due to the overwhelming need
for greater numbers of African American and Latino public school teachers,
TFA actively recruits minorities to join the program. and commit
to teach for two years.
